Jawan (2023) Synopsis: What Is the Story About?
Jawan is a Hindi-language action thriller built around a man who runs a prison and keeps a carefully guarded agenda. Bound by a promise from long ago and pushed by a deeply personal grudge, he turns the inmates under his watch into a team. Together they carry out a string of audacious, headline-grabbing crimes.
These operations are not random. Each one is designed to drag hidden corruption and everyday injustice into public view, which gives the film its strong political edge. As the stakes rise, the protagonist’s mission becomes as much about settling old accounts as about exposing the system.
Directed by Atlee and co-written with Ramana Girivasan, the film combines vigilante action with revenge drama and an emotional core rooted in the past. Shah Rukh Khan leads the film as Vikram Rathore / Azad. The cast also includes Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Deepika Padukone. This page sticks to the premise, so there are no spoilers about how the story unfolds.
