Ranabaali Synopsis (No Spoilers)
Ranabaali is set in a parched corner of 19th-century British India, where failed rains and colonial rule weigh heavily on ordinary people. Vijay Deverakonda plays Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, a man from this drought-hit land who grows into a leader willing to stand up against the injustices carried out under British authority. With the tagline “The legend of the cursed land”, the film frames his rise as a fight for dignity and survival.
Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, and Easwari Rao plays Ranabaali’s mother. On the other side of the power divide are figures from the colonial establishment: Arnold Vosloo as Sir Theodore Hector, Luke McGibney as Robert Multhus and Geoffrey Giuliano as the Viceroy of India. The film draws on real incidents from Indian history and combines period drama with action. Any further plot details are best discovered in the cinema.
