Clayface (2026) Plot: What the Film Is About
Gotham has produced many tragic figures, and Clayface adds another one. Matt Hagen, played by Tom Rhys Harries, grew up with almost nothing on the streets of Gotham. Through talent and drive, he became a Hollywood star with a career many could only dream of.
That success collapses after an encounter with a local crime boss leaves him severely disfigured. His face was his fortune, and once it is gone, the people around him walk away. Isolated and out of options, Matt turns to an experimental treatment that seems to give him back the looks he lost.
The cure comes at a cost. The procedure starts to affect how Matt sees the world around him, and his sense of what is real becomes unstable. As that happens, a hunger for revenge against those who wronged him takes over.
The tagline, “Look fear in the face,” sets the tone. This is a 109-minute horror thriller about identity, vanity and the price of becoming whole again, told through shapeshifting and body horror.
