Plot: What Is Star Detective Pretty Cure! The Movie About?

Precious objects are turning up marked with a mysterious X, and once marked, they simply stop working. The culprits seem to be the Damedame, strange creatures causing trouble around town, so young detective Anna Akechi and her friends take the case. Together they are Cure Answer, Cure Mystique, Cure Arcana and Cure Eclair, and solving puzzles is what they do best. Then a fairy named Rain comes to them with an urgent request: protect a girl named Karin from the Damedame.

Rain leads the team to Karin’s home, a garden so lovely it feels like something out of a dream. There they meet Karin and Alan, the fairy who watches over her. As the detectives get to know Karin and start gathering clues about the garden, the Damedame turn up there as well. Now Anna and her friends have two mysteries to crack: what exactly are the Damedame, and what secret is Karin’s garden keeping? The film blends detective-style investigation with magical-girl action, friendship and plenty of lighthearted comedy.
