The Longest Wait (2026)

The Longest Wait: Plot and Premise (What We Know So Far)

The Longest Wait is an upcoming feature-length sports documentary centred on Indonesia’s national football team. Rather than a scripted drama, the film follows real people from the team’s world, with players such as Shayne Pattynama and Rizky Ridho appearing as themselves.

The title and tagline, “No dream is too far. No wait is too long.”, frame the film around patience, ambition and the long road a national side travels in pursuit of its goals. Across its 95-minute runtime, the documentary looks at what representing a football-mad country means to the people inside the setup.

The film is in Indonesian and is directed by Sam C. Webb and Arief Soeliscane Affandi, with writing credited to Joy Gievano. Details beyond this premise, including the specific matches, moments or storylines the film covers, have not been announced yet in the available information. This page will focus on confirmed facts as the release approaches.
