Fireworks of My Heart plot: what the series is about
Song Yan and Xu Qin knew each other when they were younger, but opposition from her family pulled them apart before their relationship could take root. Ten years later, both work in demanding jobs where lives are at stake. Song Yan leads a team of firefighters, and Xu Qin works as an emergency doctor. Their careers keep putting them in the same places, from fire and rescue scenes to busy hospital corridors, so a reunion that neither of them planned becomes impossible to avoid.
The story sets their unfinished past against the pressure of emergency work, where every call can turn into a matter of life and death. Alongside the central pair, the drama follows colleagues and friends whose lives are shaped by rescue missions, hospital shifts and the bonds that form in high-stress workplaces. It also looks at how the years apart have changed both of them. The core question is a simple one: after a decade of growing up separately, can two people who were once forced apart face the obstacles that still stand between them?
