House of Ninjas plot: what the series is about
On the surface, the Tawara household looks like any other Japanese family dealing with everyday life, old grudges and the occasional argument at the dinner table. Behind that ordinary front is a secret. The Tawaras come from a long line of ninjas, trained in martial arts and covert work, and they once served the country from the shadows. They turned their backs on that world years ago and tried to settle into normal routines.
That quiet retirement does not last. A series of growing dangers forces the family to take up the skills they had set aside and return to undercover missions. Going back into the shadows reopens tensions that never fully healed: friction between parents and children, rivalry between siblings, and a reluctant hero who would rather not be part of the family trade at all. As they move through espionage and secret operations, the Tawaras also have to work out what they owe one another.
House of Ninjas blends a dysfunctional-family drama with an action thriller built around secret societies, government agencies and conspiracies.
