Avengers: Infinity War plot summary (no spoilers)
For years, the Avengers have dealt with dangers no single hero could face alone. In Avengers: Infinity War, the biggest of those dangers finally arrives from deep space. Thanos, a warlord feared across the galaxy, is hunting for the six Infinity Stones. Each is a cosmic relic of almost limitless power. Holding all of them would let him reshape reality to fit his own grim vision.
Stopping him takes more than one team. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and War Machine are joined by Doctor Strange, Spider-Man and Black Panther. Heroes who have rarely, if ever, shared a battlefield must now act together as the conflict spreads from Earth into the cosmos.
The film blends superhero action with space adventure and an unusually high-stakes sense of threat. Every earlier chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building towards this confrontation. The question running through the story is simple: can anyone stand in the way of a villain whose goal is control over all of existence? The tagline sums up the scale: “An entire universe. Once and for all.”
