Raj Malhotra is wealthy, easy-going and in no hurry to take life seriously. He is a second-generation NRI (Non-Resident Indian) who has grown up far from India. Simran Singh comes from a very different household. Her father, Chaudhry Baldev Singh, has also built his life abroad, but he holds firmly to traditional Indian values and expects his daughters to do the same.

Those expectations shape Simran’s future. She is promised to a man chosen for her in childhood, and she travels to India for the wedding. Raj, who has fallen for her, refuses to simply let her go. He heads to India too, determined to win her hand openly, right in the middle of her family and the wedding preparations.
