Plot Summary: Into the Deep with Doraemon
Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil (original title: 映画ドラえもん 新・のび太の海底鬼岩城) takes the familiar gang far beneath the waves. Nobita, Shizuka, Gian and Suneo are eager to explore the ocean, and Doraemon’s futuristic gadgets give them the means to travel and stay underwater for real. One companion on the journey is the Underwater Buggy, a talkative vehicle with a personality of its own.
As the group ventures deeper, the seabed turns out to be much more than coral and fish. They uncover signs of a lost civilisation and eventually reach a mysterious castle hidden on the ocean floor. They also meet a new character named Eru. Meanwhile, the deep sea itself is far from peaceful, with earthquakes and volcanic activity stirring beneath the surface.
The story is built around exploration and friendship. The five friends have to rely on one another, and on Doraemon’s inventive tools, as their underwater outing grows into a much bigger adventure.
