Ebenezer (2026): Plot Summary and What We Know So Far
Victorian London, the 19th century. Ebenezer Scrooge is an ageing, tight-fisted man who has spent a lifetime putting money ahead of people. His comfortable routine is shattered when Jacob Marley, his late business partner, returns from beyond the grave. Marley’s visit is only the beginning. A series of Christmas spirits follow, each pulling Scrooge into an unsettling journey through time.
As the night unfolds, he is made to look back at the boy and young man he once was. The film’s tagline, “Before he was Scrooge, he was…”, hints at a strong focus on that earlier self, with separate actors cast as Child Ebenezer and Young Ebenezer. Along the way he must face his clerk Bob Cratchit, his nephew Fred and the consequences of his own choices.
Based on a book and steeped in gothic, dark-fantasy atmosphere, Ebenezer frames the familiar holiday tale as a story of self-reflection, redemption and one man’s search for a second chance at happiness. Further plot details have not been revealed.
