Point Break (2015) plot summary
Johnny Utah is a young FBI agent with a background in extreme sports, and that background makes him the Bureau’s best chance at cracking an unusual case. A string of crimes, including bank robberies, points to a group of thrill-seekers whose talents lie in surfing, skydiving and other high-risk pursuits. To get close to them, Utah goes undercover and works his way into their world.
The crew is led by the charismatic Bodhi, and Utah’s place among them depends on keeping up with their stunts as well as keeping his real identity hidden. Samsara Dietz is also part of this circle, and Utah’s FBI handler, Angelo Pappas, follows the operation from the outside. The longer Utah spends inside the group, the more the line between the job and the lifestyle begins to blur.
The tagline is “Find your breaking point.” The film is a crime thriller built around physical danger, and it sets its undercover story against a series of large-scale action sequences that use extreme sports as the main spectacle.
