Rambut Sewu: Satu Langkah Getih – Plot Summary (What We Know So Far)
A fresh start in a quiet tea-growing village becomes the setting for this Indonesian horror mystery. Ratih (Ruth Marini) takes a job at the local tea factory, and she and her daughter Wulan (Wavi Zihan) are given an aging house that belongs to the company. Soon after they settle in, Wulan is troubled by unsettling dreams and inexplicable happenings, and her grip on her own behaviour begins to slip.
To the locals, the cause is no mystery at all. They point to Marni (Taskya Namya), a woman who once lived in the same house and whose fate has gone unexplained for decades. Wulan’s case attracts attention online, which brings Damar (Yusuf Mahardika) home. He is a journalist who grew up in the village and wants to find out what is really happening. He is joined by Suradi (Donny Alamsyah), a man familiar with forces rooted in the past. Together they set out to break the bond between Wulan and Marni and confront the power known as Dhandhang Gendhing.
