Crystal Lake (2026) guide: plot summary, cast led by Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, release date, episodes and where to watch on Peacock in the US.

Crystal Lake plot summary

Nearly a year has passed since Pamela “Pam” Voorhees lost her son. Jason, a frail and often sick boy, drowned in the lake at the heart of their small town, and Pam, a single mother, has not found a way through her grief. Her days remain shaped by the loss, and the community around her seems to have moved on faster than she can.

That fragile routine breaks when two outsiders turn up at her home asking questions about her history. Their curiosity sets off a series of unsettling events, and as tension spreads through the town, the people of Crystal Lake begin to wonder how well they really know the woman living among them.

Crystal Lake is an American prequel drawn from a film and built around a mother-son relationship. Its official tagline, “Rage is a mother.”, hints at the themes of grief and fury at the centre of the story. The series blends drama and mystery with the atmosphere of a summer camp slasher.
