Pursuit of Jade plot summary
Fan Changyu is a butcher’s daughter who knows her way around a cleaver and is used to fending for herself. Xie Zheng is a nobleman who has fallen from his former standing and carries a quiet determination to settle old scores. When their paths cross, the two make a practical deal: a marriage that exists in name only, serving each of them for reasons of their own.
The arrangement is complicated by everything neither of them says out loud. Xie Zheng keeps parts of his past hidden, and the politics of the nobility and the court are never far behind him. Around the pair, a world of martial arts, family loyalties and looming conflict raises the stakes for a down-to-earth town girl and a man with too many secrets.
Set against a historical backdrop that moves between everyday life, court intrigue and war, Pursuit of Jade (逐玉) blends romance, action and political drama. Its heroine stands out from the usual costume-drama lead through her practical skills and stubborn resolve.
