Veil of Shadows plot summary
Veil of Shadows (original title 月鳞绮纪) is a Chinese xuanhuan costume drama that blends romantic fantasy with demon-hunting intrigue. At its centre is Lu Wuyi, the youngest nine-tailed fox of the secretive Formless Moon Sect. Her sect sends her out with her friend Wu Wangyan to find Xiaowei, a fox demon who has fled.
The trail leads Lu Wuyi to Luo’an City, where she slips into the Wei Mansion under cover. Her path soon crosses with Wu Shiguang, a man carrying a long-held grudge, and with Ji Ling and Li Jie, two demon hunters from the Shilin Sect. A fox spirit working alongside the very people trained to hunt her kind makes for an uneasy partnership. Each of them has a private motive, and trust does not come easily.
Behind the hunt for Xiaowei lies a larger prize: the Dragon Deity’s Power, a force that many want to control. As the group digs into what is really happening in Luo’an City, suspicion and cooperation keep pulling them in different directions. Romance, loyalty and rivalry all grow out of that tension.
